NIC Packager crashing on Local Collector

Fact

enVision Core 3.x

Symptom

Receiving NIC System Message %NIC-0-508038: Packager, Packager, -, -, -, -, Detail: %d: Exception Occurred While Creating Index for Device Type

Cause

The etc\devices\globaldef.xml doesn't exist which is causing the XML Parser to be thrown into a loop that exhuasted the 2GB limit of the NIC Packager service

Fix

Copy the globaldef.xml from another system or contact support to obtain a default copy

Issue will be resolved with the release of enVision 4.x which will allow the NIC Packager to release memory if loading of a device fails

There will be a new debugging message indicating the globaldef.xml does not exist
